I’m a very introverted being.
I don’t really want a huge amount of people in my life. But, even though I dont want to see people often, and I could go days sitting at home alone and be very happy about it—I have felt so lonely on my creative journey.
Artists are often very isolated.
And while we may not want to be around people a lot of the time, and while the art has to be made by the Artist alone, we deserve community and support. Creatives NEED community. What we are doing is revolutionary and rebellious. It demands support.
Enter: The Inspired Collective.
I’ve been running the Inspired Collective for … eugh I dont want to go check, if I swap tabs who knows how long it will take for me to get back... I’m going to say four years … maybe five. In that time, the Collective has become my family. I’m indebted to this community. I have felt held, seen, and taken care of by this group of artists.
In turn, the Collective is a space I promise to make you feel seen in your creative ambitions, where you can come to ask questions, where you can be held accountable, where you can complain, where you can celebrate, where you can level the fuck up.
What happens in this community?
We meet each week. We accomodate multiple timezones. You can always catch up on the ones you miss; everything is recorded. On the first two Sundays of the month we have Masterclasses, where I teach, and talk with you about the creative journey. The second and third Sundays of the month are ‘Create sessions’ where we sit the fuck down and make our art, together. We also have a community page, so you can connect with others, as well as a book club, and a weekly newsletter.
This Semester’s Topics:
I want to be SEEN. Where do I start? Is it bad to want to be seen? How to deal with being seen? How do I get myself seen?
How do I market and champion my art: a conversation of branding and marketing, making it happen YOUR WAY.
Finding and building a relationship with your audience. Your 1000 true fans.
Navigating the feeling of "this is not working." What to do when you're sitting in silence and not making connection, money. How to use this to your advantage.
How do I want to monetize my creations? How do you want to make money from your art? How do you make money? How do you value your own art?
Some FAQs
I don’t know if I qualify as an artist…
We need to stop putting the word Artist on a pedestal. I had a physiotherapist join a class once because they considered their craft an art (and I freaking agree). Whatever it is you make, however frequently it is you make it, you are an artist, you are welcome here.
What if I am only just starting my journey
This semester we are looking at being SEEN as an artist. Whether that is something you’re just starting to consider, or whether you’re Taylor Swift, there will be magic for you in these classes. However, if you are an artist who does not want to share their art ever, then the semester’s topics might not be for you (though I’ll also be happy to talk you about your desires for a private creative practice).
What if I am very shy
We use a platform that doesn’t ask you to be on screen, you can be as shy and as introverted as you want in these classes. You can just enjoy the feeling of hundreds of creatives coming together from around the world and taking their art seriously, but you don’t have to say a word.
I would love for you to join us.
Honoured to already be a part of this community, it is a BARGAIN you get so much support just from watching the replays, super excited to dive into this next semester with you, sending love
Those semester topics are great!
